Knee arthroscopy is a surgical procedure that helps doctors diagnose and treat knee joint problems by providing a clear view inside the joint.

During knee arthroscopy, your surgeon makes a small incision and carefully inserts a narrow tube containing a fiber-optic camera. The camera transmits images of your knee joint to a video monitor. Your surgeon uses the images to guide pencil-thin surgical instruments to repair joint damage.
