The 6th Annual Walk Strong Sporting Clay Event, held on October 7th at Nashville Gun Club, was a success! Thanks to the 55 participants and the generous donations from Walk Strong supporters, over $18,500 was raised. The Walk Strong Foundation is a non-profit medical organization that provides joint replacements in developing countries.

Walk Strong Foundation Updates

In 2018, the foundation will focus on bringing additional medical aid and training to Jamaica and Mexico. In February, Walk Strong Foundation board members, including Dr. Michael J. Christie, will conduct a site visit to the hospital at the University of West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, to assess a possible partnership with their medical community for joint replacements. The foundation hopes to provide charitable procedures for indigent patients along with joint replacement training programs for University of West Indies medical staff. While there, the Walk Strong team also will speak to the Jamaican Orthopaedic Society.

In April, the Walk Strong Foundation will complete a surgical mission trip to Mexico. They are very close to fulfilling their ten-year commitment to Veracruz, having helped many individuals regain their mobility and live productive lives.

Upcoming fundraising events for the Walk Strong Foundation include:

  • Golf Scramble - June 2018
  • Sporting Clay Event - September 2018
