All new prescriptions are given to the patient at the time of the appointment. Please feel free to request medication refills at the time of your office visit. If a refill is needed between office visits, please contact our office during normal business hours or contact your pharmacy to request a refill. The pharmacist will contact our office if necessary. Please allow 24-48 hours for processing.
Please note: It is SJRI's general policy not to process new medication requests and/or refill existing prescriptions requests after office hours, over weekends or holidays. We will process all refill requests received prior to 3:30 p.m. on the same day of the request.
To ensure an accurate and efficient refill process, please provide the following information at the time of the request:
- Your full name
- Date of birth and Social Security Number
- The name, strength and dosing instructions of medication(s) you need refilled
- Name and phone number of pharmacy
- A phone number where you can be reached if additional information is needed
We will contact you if your prescription cannot be called in or if we need additional information regarding your current condition. Otherwise, the prescription will be called in by the end of the day. Please contact your pharmacy directly to see when your prescription will be ready for pick up.
At times, a refill may not be given if you have not had an office visit within the last three months addressing your current medical issue. Therefore, you may be asked to make an appointment prior to receiving your prescription.
Certain medications require a written prescription and will require you to pick up the prescription at the office or have it mailed to your home address. We will contact you when it is ready.
