Hip Resurfacing

Total hip resurfacing is an alternative to total hip replacement for patients who suffer chronic pain due to arthritis or other hip conditions.

In hip resurfacing, your orthopedic surgeon will implant a metal socket in your hip, but rather than remove the head of the femur, the surgeon will reshape and round the existing damaged ball and cover it with a metal cap.
